whale shark in tofo mozambiqueTofo Beach is located 20km from the historic port city of Inhambane in Southern Mozambique , just over 500km north of the capital Maputo . With miles upon miles of unspoiled, pristine, tropical beaches and warm Indian Ocean waters teeming with marine life, whale sharks, manta rays, humpback whales and much much more, and even without the diving, Tofo is a tropical beach paradise.

The winter months see the arrival of the humpback whales migrating south and a great day of diving in the winter can include all of these majestic creatures in one morning - nowhere else in the world can offer this remarkable combination!!

Tofo is known among international divers as one of the best places in the world to have close encounters with manta rays and whale sharks. Both mantas and whale sharks can be seen in Tofo year round.

After breakfast (provided by Africa centre) you will be transferred back to O.R. Tambo international airport for a 10h30 direct flight to Inhambane via Kruger Mpumalanga international airport (KMIA). You will arrive in Inhambane at 13h15 and will be met nudibranch in Tofo Mozambiqueby our friendly and entertaining guides (“Roy’s specialty”) who will help you with visa issuing (should you not have one in your passport already), you will then be transferred to Tofo beach. After you’ve settled into your room, we will take you to Tofo scuba, where you will meet the “famous” Tofo scuba dive crowd. Dive orientation for the week.
Accommodation for the next 7 nights will be either at Casa Barry (a-frame chalets) or at Mundos Tofo dive resort (en-suite *** double rooms with air conditioning)

Wednesday through Sunday:
An early breakfast is provided each morning at the dive shop prior to the first dive. There are 2 scheduled dives on four of the days in Tofo, and one day with 3 scheduled dives. We concentrate on reefs with manta cleaning stations (24m - 30m deep) and areas where our whale sharks are most common. You will have time for lunch in between the first and second dive of the day. On one of these days we are providing one buffet dinner in Tofo. Also on one of the afternoons Roy will take you for a very interesting and informative cultural and historical tour of Inhambane (also Roy’s specialty).

Monday:
After breakfast you will do one last dive and then have plenty of time to dry your gear, shed a tear, and enjoy the beautiful “Tofo” beach.

Tuesday:
You will have your last breakfast in Tofo, enough time to maybe do some final souvenir shopping and then you will be transferred back to Inhambane airport for your 13h45 flight to KMIA if you decide to do the amazing (“Bruno’s special”) Kruger national park safari tour or back to O.R Tambo international for your evening return flight back to Europe if you did not book any extensions.

Tofo Beach is sometimes written as Tofu Beach. It is actually Tofo, but the Mozambicans speak Portuguese and in Portuguese, the "o" at the end of a word is pronounced as "u". So it's Tofo and not tofu :)
