Diving is good all year round in Tofo or Zavora or onboard the liveaboard. The largest concentration of whalesharks and manta's will be from october through april, but if you come in june or august, the whalesharks and manta's will be there. Any day of the year can be a good diving day.
June through October is the annual Humpback Whale migration. Whale song is frequently heard on dives and Whale sightings from boats or from the shore are extremely common. During these winter months you can see Humpback Whales, Whalesharks and Manta rays. Rainy season is from november to february, the summer months. the Humpback Whales have left, but the Manta's and Whalesharks are here in large numbers. Water temperatures vary from 20°C in july to 28°C in january. Weather conditions and water temperature may change during your stay and even during a diving day. The early morning dive may have different conditions than the late morning or afternoon dive. This said, any time of year is good for diving this part of Mozambique.
